Hello! Welcome (back) to All Hear, the Everything List for Audio Opportunities.
This month, some good news! After a long hiatus, NPR have resumed their fall/winter internships (for U.S. based producers). When they paused, it felt like, one of many, biological markers for an industry that was struggling, and becoming increasingly difficult to enter for entry level producers. So this is a brilliant sign. There’s also a few more great opportunities for producers in the U.S. this month, such as RESONATE’s Pitch Party, which offers $10,000 for one aspiring podcaster to create a pilot, and AIR Media’s New Voices Public Radio, an eight week course for mid-career audio makers, with a $1000 stipend.
And a reminder that next month Transom’s lead teacher David Weinberg, along with guest speaker Sarah Koenig from Serial, will teach a weeklong Transom in Europe workshop in partnership with the Berlin School of Podcasting. If you’re interested, reach out to benjamin@berlin-school-of-podcasting.com.
All Hear is free and always will be. If you want to show your support you can buy me a coffee or donate to Transom, which helps keep this resource-intensive work sustainable.
